Community Outreach

Second Baptist Church’s commitment to positively impacting our community has extended beyond traditional ministries. Currently, we support the community in the following areas:

Caring Services- As a subcontractor of Orange County’s Mental Health and Well Being in Diverse Communities Grant, SBC provides peer coaching, education, and training about Mental Health. Peer coaches are prepared to walk alongside someone who needs support and mitigate the stigma of mental health issues. For more information email Janae Stark at Caring@sbc.family.

Health Equity for African American’s League (HEAAL)- SBC is the anchor organization for this collective of churches, nonprofits and community members. HEAAL addresses social determinants of health (SoDH) affecting Blacks & African Americans who live, work and/or worship in Orange County. For more information, visit HEAALOC.org or email K.Gardner@sbc.family.
HEAAL was featured on Dennis Quaid’s Viewpoint Project which aired on PBS 9/30/24
